The influence of social factors on neuropsychiatric symptoms in Alzheimer's disease Lead Investigator: Sng Hui Xin Institution : Nanyang Technological University E-Mail : sngh0006@e.ntu.edu.sg Proposal ID : 1312 Proposal Description: The presence of neuropsychiatric symptoms (NPS) such as depression is known to be associated with faster Alzheimer's disease progression. Social factors such as co-participant characteristics and living situation of the patient may mitigate the adverse effects of NPS on disease outcomes. Here we aim to investigate 1) whether the relationships between NPS and Alzheimer's biomarkers (e.g. cerebral atrophy) are moderated by social factors and 2) whether the relationships between NPS and multi-domain cognitive decline are moderated by social factors.
